Job summary

Abington Memorial Hospital is seeking a maintenance technician responsible for installation, repair, and preventive maintenance of a wide range of mechanical equipment and facilities. You will inspect, dismantle, repair, and reassemble systems for safety, lighting, plumbing, HVAC, and control systems.

The role requires lifting over 50 lbs, up to 140 lbs pushing, and frequent standing. Work mostly on-site in Abington, PA with a focus on safe operations and effective maintenance practices within

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent; Journeyman Mechanical Maintenance.
• Understanding of electrical safety and lockout/tagout standards.
• Knowledge of safe practices in daily operations and maintenance of physical premises.
• Ability to adapt to changing environment and processes.
• Knowledge of emergency response procedures.
• Knowledge of communicating with customers.

Responsibilities

• Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson
• Performs urgent, corrective, routine, preventative, and requisitioned repairs of electrical, mechanical and plumbing equipment and systems.
• Maintains routine records of inspections, preventative maintenance and repairs performed on any equipment or system.
• Maintain and repair distribution systems involving vacuum, medical air, medical gas systems and air compressors.
• Maintain pneumatic equipment located in engine rooms, such as hot water convertor, thermostats, induction units, sump pumps and all piping pertaining to the function of this equipment.
• Make checks of all mechanical area equipment.
• Handle maintenance calls from the main office.
• Assist other trade maintenance technicians with more complicated repairs as needed.
