Job summary

Prime Healthcare in Dallas region is seeking a Hospital Maintenance Technician III (Plant Operations Tech III/Boiler Operator III) to perform advanced maintenance on hospital systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing and life safety equipment. The role supports emergency response, preventive maintenance and facility projects, coordinating with staff and contractors to minimize disruption to patient care.

Shift: Days (Wednesday to Sunday); Full Time, 8-hour shifts, with on-call adjustments.

Qualifications

• Five (5) years experience in an acute healthcare setting preferred.
• Able to troubleshoot, read schematics, and/or blue prints.
• Valid state driver’s license; certification/licensing in a trade relative to healthcare engineering.

Responsibilities

• Perform repairs and preventative maintenance on HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, medical gas, and other systems.
• Respond quickly to emergency repair requests to restore hospital operations without compromising patient care.
• Regularly inspect and test critical hospital safety systems such as backup generators, fire alarm systems, emergency lighting, and life safety equipment.
• Preventative maintenance during regular inspections and checks to prevent breakdowns.
• Assist with hospital renovation and construction projects; coordinate work with contractors as needed.
