Job summary

Prime Healthcare is seeking a Hospital Maintenance Technician III to maintain HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and life-safety systems in a hospital setting. The role supports emergency response, preventive maintenance, and facility projects while coordinating with staff and contractors to minimize disruption to patient care.

This full-time position in Dallas region (Mesquite, TX area) offers dayshift hours, 8-hour shifts, and a benefits package including health, dental, vision, 401K, and tuition

Qualifications

• Five years experience in an acute healthcare setting preferred.
• Able to troubleshoot, read schematics and/or blueprints.
• Valid state driver’s license.
• Certified and/or licensed in a trade related to healthcare engineering.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Perform repairs and preventative maintenance on HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, medical gas, and other systems.
• Respond quickly to emergency repair requests to restore hospital operations without compromising patient care.
• Regularly inspect critical safety systems such as backup generators and fire alarm systems for safety compliance.
• Preventative Maintenance during regular inspections and checks to prevent breakdowns.
• Assist with hospital renovation and construction projects; coordinate work with contractors.

Overview

We are seeking aHospital Maintenance Technician III,alsoreferredto asaPlant Operations TechnicianIIIorBoiler Operator III.The Hospital Maintenance Tech IIIis responsible foradvanced maintenance and repairs on hospital systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and life safety equipment to ensure a safe and operational healthcare environment. This role also supports emergency response, preventive maintenance, and facility projects while coordinating with staff and contractors to minimize disruption to patient care.

Shift’s Available:Days (Wednesday to Sunday)

Employment Type:Full Time

Hours:8-hour shifts – 7:00am to 3:30pm when on call 8:00am am to 4:30pm when not on call

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to):

• Perform repairs and preventative maintenance on HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical,medical gas,and other systems
• Quickly respond to emergency repair requests, such as system malfunctions or equipment breakdowns, to restore hospital operations without compromising patient care
• Regularly inspect and test critical hospital safety systems such as backup generators, fire alarm systems, emergency lighting, and life safety equipment to ensure they are functional and compliant with safety standards
• Preventative Maintenance, during regular inspections and checks to prevent breakdowns, like lubricating motors, testing generators, or checking emergency lighting
• Assistwith hospital renovation and construction projects; coordinate work with contractors as needed

Qualifications

Before we go any further, we do have some deal-breakers. You must have:

1. Five (5) years experience in an acute healthcare setting preferred

2. Able to troubleshoot, read schematics, and/or blue prints.

3. Valid state driver’s license.

4. Certified and/or licensed in a specified trade that is relative to healthcare engineering (Steam boiler, HVAC, etc)

5. High School Diploma or equivalent required
