Job summary

The Brigham and Women's Hospital, Inc. is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform preventive maintenance and repairs on complex mechanical systems across the hospital campus at 500 Brookline Avenue. The role requires good tool skills and the ability to work under general supervision, with potential on-call obligations.

Shift patterns include weekdays with potential weekend or rotating shifts. The position is onsite in Boston, MA, and EEO guidelines apply.

Qualifications

• 2 years mechanical or electrical experience and/or a graduate of a technical or vocational school.
• Must interact and cooperate with other hospital groups.
• Good working knowledge of standard hand tools, small power tools and related mechanical specialty tools.

Responsibilities

• Performs preventive and/or predictive maintenance and repairs on mechanical equipment and systems throughout the hospital, including fire extinguishers.
• Repairs HVAC systems and related components, such as belts, drives, filters, seals, motors and pumps.
• Responds to emergencies when necessary and may cover routes across the hospital complex.
• Maintains a safe working environment in Engineering Department areas and assists other trades as needed.
