Job summary

Waverly Health Center is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician to assist in keeping the hospital campus and grounds in good repair. You will help with HVAC controls, electrical, plumbing systems, and safety practices across the organization.

The role requires reading blueprints, adherence to safety standards, and ability to perform physical tasks in a healthcare environment. High school diploma and valid Iowa driver's license are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience with building upkeep and machinery maintenance preferred.
• Ability to read, speak and write fluent English.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair HVAC controls and equipment to maximize efficiency.
• Perform urgent and routine repairs on electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems; assist with generators.
• Replace, install, repair, and test electrical circuits and lighting; pull data cables as needed.
• Keep routine records of inspections, maintenance, and repairs.
• Perform manual tasks such as moving supplies, replacing light bulbs, and cleaning areas.
• Assist with building repairs, painting, roofing, and minor plumbing; shoveling and snow plowing as needed.
• Read blueprints and prepare specifications; know fire alarm systems and safety procedures.
