Job summary

PACS Group is seeking a cook to manage and operate the kitchen in the absence of the Dietary Supervisor and to report to the Dietary Supervisor. Responsibilities include maintaining a safe, sanitary kitchen, preparing meals in large quantities, following menus, and training dietary staff.

Requirements include a high school diploma and at least one year of hospital or long-term care cooking experience, with ServSafe certification preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience as a cook in a hospital or long term care facility for at least 1 year.
• Must obtain and maintain ServSafe Certificate.
• Knowledge and experience with PCC preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain kitchen and cooking area in a safe, orderly, clean and sanitary manner.
• Prepare meals in large quantities and ensure portion control.
• Follow prepared menus and dietary guidelines.
• Prepare special diets accurately.
• Record food temperatures and ensure food safety.
• Supervise and train dietary staff as needed.
• Report resident care concerns to administrators.
