Job summary

Grande Ronde Hospital in Oregon is seeking a part-time Laundry Worker to process linens, gowns, uniforms and other laundry items for a clean and safe hospital environment. Working on-site, you will collect, wash, dry, fold and distribute textiles while maintaining infection prevention standards.

The role requires physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and flexibility to work weekends/holidays as needed. Benefits include health and vision insurance, retirement plans and paid time off to support

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Prior hospital laundry experience is a plus.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions.

Responsibilities

• Collects, transports, weighs, records and washes soiled linen from hospital departments.
• Folds and distributes clean linen to maintain an adequate supply in all areas.
• Cleans work/supply carts, equipment and exchange carts.
• Cleans assigned work areas and disposes of refuse.
• Inspects linen for stains/holes; removes strings, lint and loose materials.
• Mends linen as needed, ensuring no needle holes in material.
• Maintains and checks mending boxes on a collection schedule.
• Maintains cleanliness and organization of laundry area, including equipment and surfaces.
