Job summary

A-Line Staffing Solutions has an opening for a Certified Medical Laboratory Technologist in Ypsilanti, Michigan. This full-time role requires BS/MS-level clinical lab certification (ASCP or AMT) and recent hospital lab experience, with emphasis on Blood Bank and transfusion services.

The technologist will work day shifts in a small hospital lab, assist with on-call coverage, and support inpatient, surgical, pre-admission, and emergency department testing.

Qualifications

• Current Medical Laboratory Technologist or Medical Laboratory Scientist certification through ASCP or AMT.
• Recent hospital laboratory experience preferred.
• Demonstrated Blood Bank and transfusion services experience.
• Ability to perform moderate- and high-complexity testing.
• Willingness to participate in on-call coverage and respond to emergent needs.

Responsibilities

• Perform moderate- and high-complexity laboratory testing across multiple disciplines.
• Provide Blood Bank and transfusion services, including urgent support.
• Perform chemistry, immunoassay, hematology, coagulation, urinalysis, microscopy, and blood gas testing.
• Perform phlebotomy and blood draws as part of routine duties.
• Conduct point-of-care testing and support emergency clinical testing needs.
• Perform quality control, instrument maintenance, troubleshooting, and QA activities.
• Follow laboratory procedures, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Support inpatient, surgical, pre-admission, and emergency department services.
• Respond to urgent testing requests and communicate critical results per protocol.
• Complete facility-specific training and competency assessments before independent testing.
