Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is hiring a Food Service Worker to perform dishwashing and pot washing, ensure sanitation of the main kitchen and all food service equipment, retrieve soiled patient trays, and stock supplies across unit kitchens. You will help maintain a clean, safe environment and support ongoing food service operations.

You must be able to read, write and speak English, understand basic weights and measures, and perform basic math.

Qualifications

• Requires the ability to carry out instructions and procedures that are standardized.
• Ability to read, write and speak English.
• Understanding of basic weights and measures.
• Understanding of basic mathematical functions.
• Ability to stoop and lift 30 pounds and push and pull 300 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Completes setup, stock and sanitation of workstations following standard procedures.
• Collects and disposes of all refuse according to department policy; hand washes pots/pans per procedure.
• Cleans equipment and surfaces in kitchens and related areas per standard procedures.
• Stores supplies and maintains inventory; replenishes soap and towels; rotates items per procedures.
• Maintains clean, safe work area and reports hazards immediately to supervisor.
