Job summary

Mercy is seeking a kitchen helper to support patient-centered care by preparing and serving meals, and maintaining a clean, sanitary kitchen and café environment. You will receive and stock supplies, wash pots and pans, and help with daily cleaning tasks in line with safety guidelines.

Candidates should be able to read and write, with at least a high school diploma preferred, and prior kitchen or food service experience (three months or more) preferred.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and write.
• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Three months or more of relevant experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintains clean and sanitary environment.
• Removes trash, cardboard, and recyclables in accordance with procedure.
• Receives and rotates food stock and other goods.
• Ensures all pots, pans, and other kitchen utensils are properly cleaned and sanitized.
• Provides needed paperwork to Administrative Assistant.
• Performs daily tasks contained in daily cleaning schedule.
• Follows Mercy's safety guidelines, carries out job-specific safety duties and responsibilities, and promptly reports any unsafe conditions, situations, incidents and injuries.
