Job summary

HCA Florida Blake Hospital in Bradenton, FL is seeking a Cook to join our kitchen team. You will prepare, season, and cook meals for patients, staff, visitors and special functions, while reviewing menus to determine quantities and types of food needed.

You will coordinate timing to meet service schedules and ensure consistent, high-quality meals with proper portion control. You will maintain sanitation and safety standards (HACCP), assist in ordering supplies, and mentor new kitchen staff,

Qualifications

Experience preparing meals for patients, staff and visitors.
Knowledge of HACCP sanitation standards.
Ability to mentor new staff.
Strong menu planning and portion control.
No travel required.

Responsibilities

Prepare, season, and cook food for patients, staff, visitors, and special functions.
Review menus to determine types and quantities of food.
Prepare quality food in sufficient quantities to cover all service requirements.
Coordinate timing of preparation to meet service schedules for patients, staff, visitors and catering.
Adhere to standardized recipes and portion controls to prevent waste and control costs.
Maintain sanitation and safety standards in production areas (HACCP).
