Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is looking for a dedicated cook to prepare, store, and distribute hot and cold foods for your cafeteria and patient meals. You will maintain sanitation, follow recipes, and support function events with quality service.

This non-exempt role requires a High School degree, ServSafe certification within a year, and 2 years of culinary training; 3 years of institutional cooking in healthcare is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School degree or equivalent.
• Must read, write and comprehend English and follow both written and verbal instructions.
• ServSafe certification obtained within 1 year of employment.
• 2 years culinary food service training.
• 3 years institutional cooking experience, preferably in health care setting.

Responsibilities

• Follows all HACCP standards.
• Oversee food production in kitchen.
• Maintains high sanitation standards.
• Participates in cost containment and departmental goals.
• Attends and participates in dietary department meetings.
• Assists in keeping Press Ganey scores within targets.
