Job summary

University of Maryland Capital Region Medical Center in Largo, MD, seeks an Inventory/Materials Clerk to ensure timely delivery of supplies and linen to hospital inventories and satellite locations.

Responsibilities include stocking, inventory control, creating pick lists, delivering goods, and maintaining PAR levels. Prior hospital supply experience and strong customer service are preferred.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of related experience preferred.
• Working experience with hospital supplies preferred.
• Prior use of automated inventory and purchasing system preferred.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Strong customer service ability strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Stock, inventory, requisition and issue hospital goods to and from the main storeroom(s).
• Inventory, re-stock and manage sufficient inventory/linen levels in designated areas according to calculated PAR levels.
• Create pick lists according to the defined process, pick goods from indicated locations, and deliver to designated areas.
• Place goods with accuracy in bins, drawers, and racks, identifying part and stored location.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for all supply/linen issues for assigned end-users.
• Proactively maintain assigned storage areas by removing boxes/packing materials/loose items, replacing incorrectly located supplies, rotating stock and checking for out-dates.
• Perform cycle counts of inventory locations as assigned.
• Distribute incoming and outgoing mail per procedure.
• Troubleshoot minor problems with copy equipment in self-serve mail room and notify vendor for unresolved repairs.
• Perform inter–facility courier duties as assigned.
