Job summary

University of California, San Francisco is seeking a Linen Technician to manage linen ordering, receiving, delivering, stocking, and replenishment for the medical center. You will inventory and reconcile linen needs and report discrepancies to the team leader.

You will work under the Linen Senior Lead, ensuring timely delivery, proper storage, and adherence to infection control and safety standards across the hospital.

Qualifications

• High School graduation or equivalent with ability to read, write and follow written and oral instructions in English.
• Good communication skills and ability to be pleasant, professional and cooperative.
• Ability to move safely heavy supplies and equipment up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to stand for an eight-hour shift and walk/climb stairs as required.
• One year of related experience or equivalent education/experience.

Responsibilities

• Offload clean linen from carts or truck and store properly.
• Remove soiled linen from chute area and prepare for offsite transport.
• Deliver clean exchange carts within specified timeframes.
• Deliver special orders to departments promptly.
• Collect used linen carts and return to distribution daily.
• Ensure carts are filled and stored correctly for transport.
• Inform linen in-charge when additional linen is needed.
• Respond to STAT requests promptly and notify when unfulfilled.
• Deliver daily orders throughout hospital and ancillary areas.
• Restock Pyxis scrub machines and empty scrub containers.
• Roll scrubs for scrub station.
• Keep Linen Distribution room clean, safe and organized.
• Report customer issues to appropriate area in a timely manner.
• Report damaged linen carts to team leader in writing.
• Process distribution of lab coats for departments.
• Receive and inventory stock cart exchange; enter data daily.
• Assist other staff if duties are completed.
• Participate in daily QA on clean linen carts.
