Responsibilities

• Review EMRs to identify diagnoses and procedures.
• Assign ICD-10-CM and CPT codes with modifiers when indicated.
• Sequence codes by diagnosis and procedure priority.
• Communicate documentation needs and complete physician queries as needed.
• Ensure data transfer to billing applications is accurate and timely.
• Stay current with coding changes and hospital policies.
