Job summary

Qualifications

• Education requirements as stated: High School Diploma or Equivalent; Trade/Technical/Vocational Diploma acceptable.
• HVAC experience: 1-2 years required; hospital mechanic experience 3-5 years preferred.
• Licenses/credentials: HVAC license and related credentials preferred.
• Knowledge and abilities include reading blueprints, codes, and safe operation of equipment.

Responsibilities

• Installs, repairs, and maintains hospital commercial and domestic refrigeration systems, air conditioning, heating, and ventilation systems according to manufacturer's specifications.
• Design, install, maintain, and repair air duct systems, refrigeration piping, and control wiring according to established procedures for heat load and equipment.
• Service pneumatic and electronic control systems, including humidification control systems, per manufacturer specifications.
• Perform water treatment and maintenance for cooling towers and chill water systems per procedures.
• Service ultra-cold freezers and environmental systems in research and clinical areas as required.
• Maintains environmental conditions in research, animal, and computer areas, monitoring humidity and airflow within acceptable ranges.
