Job summary

The University of Alabama at Birmingham seeks an experienced HVAC Mechanic for campus maintenance. You will perform installation, maintenance, and inspection of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems across existing and renovated facilities.

You will read blueprints, troubleshoot issues, and coordinate with electricians, plumbers, and sheet metal workers. A Section 608 EPA certification and a technical HVAC degree or equivalent are required; valid driver's license and

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited HVAC program with relevant experience.
• EPA Section 608 Certification required.
• Ability to read blueprints and diagrams.

Responsibilities

• Perform skilled maintenance, repair, installation, and inspection of HVAC systems on campus.
• Operate and troubleshoot HVAC and refrigeration equipment; respond to service requests.
• Read blueprints, drawings, schedules and manufacturers' specs related to HVAC work.
• Collaborate with other maintenance staff to ensure campus facilities run reliably.
