UAB Facilities Campus Maintenance is seeking an HVAC Mechanic to perform skilled maintenance, repair, installation, and inspection of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems across university facilities. You will ensure equipment operates safely by conducting routine and preventive maintenance and responding to service requests.
Must have HVAC knowledge, the ability to read blueprints, and experience with direct digital control installation.

To perform skilled maintenance, repair, installation, and inspection of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems across existing and renovated facilities. To ensure equipment operates efficiently and safely by conducting routine and preventive maintenance activities, including inspection, troubleshooting, adjustment, and component replacement. To respond to routine and emergency service requests in a timely manner and support building operations. To collaborate with other maintenance personnel and trades to complete work assignments and maintain facility functionality.
$22.35 - $32.00 (Commensurate with experience & qualifications)
Monday through Friday, 7:00am-3:30pm (subject to change to meet the needs of the department and University).
Currently certified with a Section 608 Technician Type I, II, or III Certification from the United States Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) required.

Must possess the physical ability, with or without mechanical assistance, to safely perform job duties, including:
Performing tasks requiring bending, stooping, kneeling, and walking significant distances between and within buildings on campus.
Working in confined spaces and extreme temperatures
Working within extreme temperature ranges
