Job summary

Northwest Texas Healthcare System in Amarillo is seeking a skilled HVAC Mechanic to maintain hospital facilities and building systems. Under direct supervision, you will serve as a journeyman HVAC mechanic to meet customer needs.

Responsibilities include servicing chillers, air handlers, refrigeration equipment, and building automation controls; performing electrical and plumbing tasks; reading diagrams; and working independently to ensure reliable, safe operations in a clinical environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with technical or trade courses required.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a journeyman HVAC mechanic.
• EPA Certification.
• Previous experience in hospital environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs all duties as a journeyman HVAC mechanic.
• Services and repairs mechanical/refrigeration equipment (chillers, air handlers, split systems, refrigerators, ice machines, water heaters).
• Controls: building automation system operation, set points, temperature and humidity adjustments.
• Electrical trouble shooting as related to mechanical systems.
• Plumbing repairs as related to mechanical systems.
• Read and interpret electrical diagrams.
• Work independently without supervision.
• All other assigned duties.
