Job summary

Mount Sinai is seeking a Housekeeping Worker at Morningside to maintain patient and non-patient areas per department procedures. You will use cleaning solutions, equipment and PPE to ensure safe, clean environments across rooms, hallways and common areas.

The role requires a HS Diploma or GED and prefer experience in institutional cleaning. The position adheres to SEIU 1199-MSSL guidelines and safety standards. Training provided, with opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma/GED.
• Experience in institutional cleaning preferred.
• Collective bargaining unit: SEIU 1199-MSSL.

Responsibilities

• Dusts and cleans furniture, windowsills, light fixtures, vents, blinds, radiators and other surfaces per procedure.
• Cleans bathrooms, fixtures, pipes, tile walls, and replenishes soap/paper supplies as needed.
• Disinfects rooms and equipment with germicidal solutions.
• Hangs/removes cubicle curtains, moves furniture and supplies as needed.
• Spot cleans windows, walls and carpets; vacuums upholstery.
• Follows established safety procedures and uses equipment properly.
• Maintains OSHA/JCAHO standards and proper chemical handling.
