Job summary

Mount Sinai is seeking a Part Time Housekeeping Worker for the Evening shift (3pm–11pm) at Mount Sinai Morningside. The role covers cleaning and supplying patient and non-patient areas in accordance with department procedures, with emphasis on safety and proper waste disposal.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED, with institutional cleaning experience preferred. Union affiliation: SEIU 1199-MSSL.

Qualifications

• Experience in institutional cleaning preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepares cleaning solutions, supplies and equipment per department procedures.
• Dusts and cleans furniture, fixtures, windowsills, lights and surfaces to remove dust and soil.
• Cleans bathrooms and fixtures, replenishes soap and paper supplies as needed.
• Disinfects rooms and patient areas with germicidal solution.
• Operates cleaning equipment safely and maintains equipment in good condition.
• Follows OSHA/JCAHO standards and proper chemical handling procedures.
