Job summary

Rhode Island Hospital is seeking a housekeeping aide to perform heavy cleaning duties throughout the hospital to maintain a sanitary and orderly environment for patients, staff and visitors. Under supervision, you will follow procedures and safety guidelines while handling floors, carpets, walls, and patient areas.

Evening shift 1:00p-9:30pm with a union workforce; pays $19.75-$20.15 per hour. This role supports the Facilities Management team and contributes to a respectful, clean, and safe

Qualifications

• Ability to follow instruction and observe safety precautions.
• Ability to read, write, understand, and speak English, and count numbers.
• Operate and clean motorized and manual cleaning equipment.
• Physically able to lift and move heavy cleaning equipment and furniture.

Responsibilities

• Shampoos carpets, upholstery and refinishes floors following E.S.D. procedures.
• Dusts high vents, lights, pipes, lockers, ceilings and washes window glass.
• Cleans bathrooms and replenishes soap and paper dispensers.
• Transports heavy rubbish and linen as needed.
• Cleans construction areas after renovations are completed.
