Job summary

Brown University Health is seeking a diligent Environmental Services Aide to perform floor care, carpet cleaning and a variety of cleaning duties across hospital facilities at The Miriam Hospital in Providence, RI.

You will operate power equipment, shampoo carpets and maintain clean, safe work areas, including procedural rooms under infection-control guidelines. Evening shifts, rotating weekends, require physical stamina and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Ability to follow written and oral instructions in English.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills.
• On-the-job training typically 3–6 months in Environmental Services procedures.

Responsibilities

• Scrub/strip floors and refinish to a glossy appearance using appropriate cleaners and finishes.
• Operate power equipment and shampoo carpets; perform routine cleaning of rooms and fixtures.
• Maintain cleanliness of restrooms, corridors, CPE areas and storage spaces; report repairs as needed.
• Support fire or disaster procedures and transport supplies as required.
