Job summary

Atlantic Health in Morristown, NJ is seeking a kitchen sanitation assistant to maintain sanitation across all areas, equipment, utensils, and service stations, and support basic food preparation for fruits and vegetables to assist patient and visitor meals.

You will work with food service staff to serve customers quickly and accurately, follow safety and hygiene standards, and escalate issues to management as needed. A hospital kitchen background is preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience in hospital kitchen or food service preferred.
• Ability to follow safety and hygiene guidelines.
• Excellent communication with patients and staff.

Responsibilities

• Works in the dish room: handles scraps trays, loads the dish machine, sorts and cleans silverware, sanitizes small utensils and equipment according to standards.
• Prepares silverware and sanitizes patient and non-patient trays and components.
• Maintains proper pre and post-service sanitation for assigned work station.
• Provides customers with information regarding food ingredients, availability, and pricing.
• Serves customers in a fast, efficient, and friendly manner.
• Complies with safety, hygiene, and service standards.
• Maintains a friendly, efficient, and professional attitude towards all patients, visitors, team members and leadership.
• Escalates customer concerns and complaints to management.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
