Job summary

Southern Illinois Healthcare is seeking a Food Service Worker to prepare meals to order, cater and batch cook for patients, visitors and staff. Shifts include Day, Evening, Overnight and Weekend, with flexible scheduling depending on department needs.

Key duties include maintaining a clean work area, assembling patient trays, delivering trays with proper identifiers, and ensuring accurate portion control. Compensation is $16 to $24 per hour, with equal opportunity employment and tobacco-free

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Within 30 days of hire, obtain Food Service Managers Certification.
• Food Service Handlers Certification required where applicable.
• Food Allergens Certification required.

Responsibilities

• Maintains a clean work area following safety and sanitation guidelines.
• Enters and reports cash transactions.
• Adjusts meals to meet patient needs per doctor’s orders.
• Keeps work areas stocked with food, condiments, beverages and service ware.
• Washes dishes and utensils following IDPH guidelines.
• Delivers and retrieves trays using patient identifiers.
• Assembles patient trays accurately and attractively.
• Follows established portion control guidelines when serving food and beverages.
