Job summary

St. Joseph's/Candler is seeking a Financial Resource Coordinator (FRC) to coordinate insurance benefits, verify coverage for services, and educate patients on available programs and coverage opportunities.

The role collaborates with Oncology, OBGYN, Infusion, and other teams to obtain precertifications, verify benefits, and inform patients of their financial responsibility. Strong communication and billing/coding experience preferred; Bachelor's degree is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• 1-2 years hospital financial counseling and insurance verification experience required.
• Experience in medical coding, billing, prior authorization, and patient registration.

Responsibilities

• Answers calls, screens inquiries, and explains insurance benefits and patient balances.
• Verifies coverage, determines patient responsibility, and sets up payment plans.
• Processes Financial Assistance requests and coordinates patient applications.
• Screens for Medicaid eligibility and coordinates newborn Medicaid when applicable.
• Obtains precertifications and communicates with payers and clinical staff.
• Receives payments, balances cash, and handles daily deposits.
