The Financial Resource Coordinator (FRC) at St. Joseph’s/Candler Health System coordinates insurance benefits and verifies coverage for patients, helping them access assistance programs and understand financial responsibilities.

As part of the System - Patient Financial Solutions Center, the FRC collaborates with oncology, OBGYN, and infusion teams to obtain precertifications, educate patients, and manage self-pay processes across multiple hospital sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• 1-2 years hospital financial counseling or healthcare customer service required.
• Experience with medical coding and billing, prior authorization, and insurance verification is a plus.

Responsabilités

• Answers telephones and screens calls in a courteous manner, relaying messages to appropriate personnel.
• Verifies insurance coverage and determines patient responsibility amounts.
• Establishes payment arrangements and collects balances due.
• Processes Financial Assistance requests per department guidelines.
• Communicates Medicaid eligibility and assistance program referrals as needed.
• Completes daily deposits and end-of-day balancing.
