Job summary

AdventHealth Ottawa is seeking a Facility Engineering Technician to maintain and improve hospital systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and safety-critical environments.

You will troubleshoot, repair, and document maintenance activities, ensuring high-quality workmanship and timely responses to facility needs. This role supports safe patient care and operational reliability at AdventHealth Ottawa.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent graduation required, or five or more years of relevant experience.
• Work Experience: General maintenance experience preferred.
• Licenses and Certifications: Valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• As a Facility Engineering Technician, provide maintenance support across plumbing, electrical, mechanical, HVAC, and facility improvement functions.
• Replace and repair patient room equipment and fixtures; respond to failures in electrical, HVAC, and plumbing systems.
• Repair medical gas outlets, carts, IV stands, and appliances used by patients.
• Read blueprints, schematics, and mechanical drawings to complete tasks; maintain work order documentation.
• Maintain safety standards and comply with healthcare regulations; participate in quality improvement activities.
