Job summary

Doctors Hospital of Laredo is seeking an experienced Facility Maintenance Engineer to oversee plant operations, maintenance, and monitoring of hospital systems 24/7. The role requires being on-call after hours and weekends on a rotating basis in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

You will work under the Supervisor of Engineering/Plant Operations and interact with vendors, facilities, and operations teams to ensure reliable facility performance and safety standards.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years experience in Hospital maintenance or construction trades.
• Basic understanding of electrical and mechanical systems in a hospital setting.
• Strong communication skills; ability to document and report issues clearly.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs and work independently on multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Make equipment and building rounds; log data for systems.
• Respond to callbacks and resolve issues; escalate as needed.
• Direct vendors and coordinate repairs or installations.
• Collaborate with operations on department-wide efforts.
• Close work orders and document histories accurately.
