Job summary

Arizona Specialty Hospital is seeking a Full Time Facility Tech to perform a range of preventive maintenance and general repair tasks under the Facilities Manager. Responsibilities include inspecting equipment, performing repairs, unclogging drains, handling basic electrical tools, painting, cleaning and ensuring safety and infection control standards.

Qualifications

• High school graduate, technical or trade school preferred.
• Six months experience in general maintenance and general floor.
• Care experience preferred.
• General knowledge of plant maintenance.
• Knowledge of tools and their use.
• Knowledge of equipment used in hospitals.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Work with little or no supervision, take verbal instructions.

Responsibilities

• Inspects equipment and facility for proper operation and working conditions, maintains routine equipment inspections and repairs as necessary, adjusts, dissembles and repairs or replaces parts or components and test for proper operation.
• Reports more serious problems to his supervisor for further instructions or maintenance scheduling.
• Uses plumbers, snakes, augers or plungers to open clogged drains.
• Troubleshoots and replaces TVs, remote controls, nurse call lights, etc.
• Performs a variety of routine manual duties as required, such as repairs and assembling carts and furniture, replacing fluorescent ballasts and tubes, cleaning and lubricating motors and other machinery.
