Job summary

Northeast Georgia Health System is seeking a skilled facilities technician for plumbing, electrical, and mechanical maintenance across multiple systems. Work includes installation, inspection, and repair of piping, fixtures, and related equipment to maintain heating, water, gas, and drainage services.

The role requires an associate degree in a technical field and hands-on experience with building systems, safety procedures, and equipment operation.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in a technical field required
• One year of experience with an Associate's degree or three years of experience in lieu of degree
• Strong electrical, mechanical and plumbing skills
• Safety knowledge

Responsibilities

• Represents the department as a knowledgeable technician
• Communicates service nature to patients or staff
• Updates work request originator with progress to completion
• Documents all work and time spent promptly
• Understands major system components: boiler plant, chiller plant, generators, med air/vac pumps, sprinkler system, fire pump, fire alarm, hot/cold domestic systems
• Troubleshoots and repairs room lighting, receptacles, and ballast replacements
• Orders parts and coordinates repairs for mechanical problems
• Repairs plumbing issues (faucets, traps, valves, vacuum breakers)
• Evaluates and repairs leaks above ceiling
