Job summary

Corewell Health's Dearborn facility is seeking a full-time Maintenance Mechanic responsible for safety inspections and a wide range of repairs across electrical, HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, and mechanical systems. You will be the first contact for requests, order supplies, and coordinate with vendors as needed.

Evening shift 2 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, with on-site responsibilities and weekend/holiday rotation.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent and vocational training in building maintenance.
Knowledge of Interim Life Safety (ILSM) and implementation.
Preferred coursework at community college or technical training in building maintenance.
Building maintenance and painting experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

Conduct safety inspections of environmental rooms and equipment; coordinate with trades as needed.
Perform mechanical repairs on furniture, carts, beds and wheelchairs; fabricate as required.
Carry out plumbing repairs and emergency shutdowns; identify leaks and control floods.
Carry out carpentry tasks such as hanging shelves and installing hardware.
Perform electrical maintenance and routine inspections; troubleshoot issues.
Maintain and repair Pneumatic Tube System and assist supervisors as needed.
