Job summary

McLaren Health Care in Flint seeks a skilled Maintenance Technician to repair, install, adjust, monitor and maintain hospital HVAC/R, plumbing and electrical systems under the direction of the Maintenance Manager.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, related certificates, and a valid Michigan operator’s license. Schedule is days, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., full-time with weekend work as needed.

• Must meet approval by insurance carrier to drive hospital vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Repair, install, adjust, monitor and maintain hospital HVAC/R systems.
• Maintain plumbing and electrical systems in the hospital building.
• Perform skilled maintenance and repair tasks as directed by the Maintenance Manager.
• Work under the direction of the Maintenance Manager to ensure reliable hospital operations.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Possess a building maintenance certificate or equivalent experience.
• Must possess valid State of Michigan Operator’s license
• Must meet approval by insurance carrier to drive hospital vehicles

Preferred

• 4th class power engineering certification from NIULPE (National Institute for the Uniform Licensing of Power Engineers, Inc.) or has Third Class Stationary Engineer, licensed/registered by the State of Michigan
• Certification as a Health Care Mechanic or Health Care Engineer, as accredited by MECH or the Healthcare Facilities Alliance or similar agency.
• Previous experience in HVAC/R systems maintenance in a health care setting.
• Previous experience working alone, without assistance.
