Job summary

Licking Memorial Health Systems (LMHS) is seeking a Building Maintenance staff member to perform general maintenance, repairs, and preventive maintenance to ensure safe operation of LMHS facilities and equipment. Under the direction of the Maintenance Manager, you will independently manage assigned work orders and collaborate on larger repair projects.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required.
3–5 years of general building maintenance or related experience required.
Ability to read, write, and follow oral and/or written instructions and use standard hand and power tools.
Proficient in the safe use of standard hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose equipment and facility maintenance issues and determine repairs.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Knowledge of drywall repair, painting, carpentry, equipment assembly, and minor facility repairs.
Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record, or ability to meet LMHS driving requirements if travel between facilities is required.
LMH is accredited by DNV and TJC; may require annual education related to specialty certifications and standards.

Responsibilities

Perform general maintenance, repair, and preventive maintenance to ensure safe and efficient operation of hospital facilities and equipment.
Complete building maintenance tasks including drywall repair and painting, installation of wall protection, ceiling tile replacement, equipment assembly, hanging fixtures, and other repairs.
Independently manage and complete assigned work orders using the electronic maintenance management system with accuracy and timeliness.
Perform preventive maintenance on building systems and equipment.
Assist maintenance team with routine and complex repairs, equipment installations, data cabling, and facility improvement projects.
Travel to multiple LMHS facilities using a hospital-owned vehicle to perform maintenance and repair services.
Collaborate with other departments and maintenance staff to support facility operations and respond to maintenance needs.
Perform other related duties and special projects as assigned by the Maintenance Manager.
