Job summary

Corewell Health seeks a qualified Maintenance Mechanic in Dearborn, MI to provide first-line response to a wide range of maintenance requests in hospital facilities. Responsibilities include safety inspections, mechanical/plumbing/electrical repairs, carpentry, HVAC work, and coordination with vendors and other trades.

The role supports disaster response and is part of the emergency response team. Shifts are evenings, 40 hours per week, with opportunities to assist in various hospital systems

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with vocational training.
• Knowledge of Interim Life Safety (ILSM).

Responsibilities

• Conduct safety inspections of environmental rooms and equipment; coordinate with trades as needed.
• Perform mechanical repairs on furniture, medical equipment, beds, wheelchairs and related items.
• Perform plumbing repairs and emergency shutdowns; check for leaks and flood control.
• Perform carpentry tasks such as hanging shelves, doors, and hardware; assemble and install furniture and trim.
• Perform electrical maintenance including bulb replacements, breakers, and wiring checks.
• Read data from hospital mechanical systems and monitor Building Automation Systems.
