Job summary

UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas is seeking a Director of Hospital Facilities to oversee complex construction, engineering, design, and operational initiatives. The role requires a bachelor’s degree, 10+ years of experience, and at least 3 years of supervisory leadership to guide a professional facilities team and ensure alignment with senior leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in related field.
• 10 years of progressively responsible experience, including 3 years in a supervisory capacity.
• Preferred hospital or clinical experience.

Responsibilities

• Assists AVP in all aspects of facilities maintenance & operations, repairs, reporting, and oversight of renovations and construction projects.
• Relieves AVP of internal duties and decisions, which requires thorough understanding of the functions, programs, and policies of the organization.
• Manages and completes complex projects and reports, including major design and construction which may require significant contact with external departments and outside organizations.
• Provides leadership to the Hospital Facilities team and creates the project environment to deliver the desired results through teamwork, support and recognition.
• Evaluates and manages business decisions, employing risks management procedures to regulate contract pricing.
• Assists in supporting invoicing procedures to ensure timely compilation of materials, equipment, and utilization records, to facilitate complete and accurate invoicing of customers.
• Responsible for construction and engineering services, employee staffing, and oversight.
• Responsible for Survey readiness and preparedness and action plans for all surveys including TJC, CAP, LVAD, Stroke, etc.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
