Job summary

Mason District Hospital in Havana, IL is seeking a Part-Time EVS Technician for second shift (3:30 pm–12:00 am), 24 hours per week. The role focuses on cleaning, disinfection, waste handling, and maintaining a safe, welcoming environment across hospital facilities.

You will follow infection prevention standards, operate EVS equipment, document tasks in CMMS, and support patient safety and timely room turnover.

Qualifications

Must be 18 years of age or older.
Ability to read, write, understand, and communicate information necessary to safely perform assigned duties and follow written and verbal instructions.
Ability to understand and follow cleaning, disinfection, infection prevention, chemical safety, and workplace safety procedures.
Ability to work independently, manage assigned work, and adjust priorities in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Responsibilities

Maintain regular and reliable attendance and punctuality.
Clean and disinfect patient care areas, hospital departments, clinics, offices, public areas, and assigned outbuildings in accordance with EVS procedures and infection prevention standards.
Complete assigned cleaning schedules, work areas, patient room turnovers, and other duties accurately and within timeframes.
Respond promptly to changing operational priorities and urgent environmental services needs such as spills and isolation cleaning.
Follow infection prevention practices, including PPE use, hand hygiene, and cross-contamination prevention.
