Job summary

Beloit Health System is looking to hire an EVS Technician / Housekeeper to maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary environment across the hospital. This role supports infection prevention efforts and contributes to a positive experience for patients, visitors, and staff.

The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, and capable of following established cleaning procedures while working both independently and as part of the Environmental Services team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.

Responsibilities

• Clean and disinfect patient rooms, bathrooms, treatment areas, offices, and common areas.
• Perform daily, discharge, terminal, and specialized cleaning as assigned.
• Dust, sweep, mop, vacuum, and polish floors and surfaces throughout the facility.
• Safely collect, transport, and dispose of regular, recyclable, and regulated waste.
• Replenish supplies including paper products, soap, hand sanitizer, and other housekeeping materials.
• Clean and sanitize high-touch surfaces to support infection prevention initiatives.
• Respond promptly to spills, urgent cleaning requests, and other environmental service needs.
• Operate housekeeping equipment such as vacuums, floor scrubbers, buffers, and carpet cleaning equipment.
• Follow proper handling procedures for cleaning chemicals and disinfectants.
• Maintain assigned equipment and report maintenance or repair needs.
• Adhere to hospital policies, safety procedures, and infection prevention standards.
• Provide courteous and professional service to patients, visitors, and staff.
• Complete all required documentation and reports accurately.
