Job summary

Beloit Health System is seeking an EVS Specialist to support infection prevention and provide a clean, safe hospital environment. The role focuses on floor care, carpet maintenance, and general housekeeping across patient and public areas.

Hours are varied with per diem per-week scheduling and multiple shifts (1st/7a-3:30p, 2nd/2:30p-11p, 3rd/11p-7:30a). Training and teamwork are emphasized in a fast-paced healthcare setting.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• 1-2 years experience in floor care or healthcare housekeeping preferred.
• Ability to operate and maintain powered cleaning equipment safely.
• Strong organizational skills and time management.
• Professional demeanor with strong interpersonal communication.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions and hospital policies.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
• May work irregular hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and restorative floor care on vinyl, tile, carpet, and other flooring materials.
• Operate and maintain floor care equipment such as auto scrubbers, burnishers, buffers, carpet extractors, and vacuums.
• Strip, scrub, seal, wax, and polish floors according to procedures.
• Shampoo, extract, spot clean, and maintain carpets throughout the facility.
• Clean entryways, stairwells, hallways, elevators, and public areas.
• Respond promptly to spills, safety hazards, and emergency cleaning requests.
• Ensure proper use, storage, and handling of chemicals and cleaning supplies.
• Follow infection prevention, safety, and OSHA guidelines.
• Conduct preventative maintenance inspections on floor care equipment and report repairs.
• Assist with training team members on floor care procedures and equipment operation as needed.
• Performs room set-ups and tear downs as requested

The EVS Specialist plays a critical role in maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary environment throughout the hospital. This role is primarily responsible for the care, cleaning, and maintenance of hard and soft flooring, walls, windows, ceilings, and specialized equipment. The technician also supports waste transport, textile handling, and event set-ups.

• Operate and maintain floor care equipment such as auto scrubbers, burnishers, buffers, carpet extractors, and wet/dry vacuums.
• Strip, scrub, seal, wax, and polish floors according to established procedures.
