Job summary

Mercyhealth in Janesville, Wisconsin, seeks an EVS Tech 1 to thoroughly clean patient areas, suites, and common spaces in alignment with infection prevention standards and department policies.

The role requires experience in healthcare cleaning, proper chemical handling, and safe operation of cleaning equipment. You will support various hospital zones and participate in routine training and safety protocols.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
• Previous cleaning experience helpful.
• Minimum six (6) months as EVS Tech 1.

Responsibilities

• Perform thorough cleaning of assigned areas including furniture, tile, fixtures, sinks, toilets, and mirrors.
• Adhere to Infection Prevention Standards and use correct chemicals for different pathogens.
• Maintain EVS closet, EVS cart, and all equipment in a neat and orderly manner; report safety hazards.
• Move furniture and supplies for department projects; coordinate with affected departments.
• Operate cleaning equipment safely and follow lifting procedures; train partners as needed.
