Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking an EVS Associate - In Patient to perform daily cleaning of patient areas, offices and non-patient spaces, including routine disinfection and equipment cleaning. You will work as part of our healthcare team, communicating with patients and staff with respect and compassion.

This role involves responding to discharge cleaning, using cleaning solutions and equipment, and supporting patient safety and comfort.

Qualifications

Some High School required.
0-1 years related work experience required.
Basic familiarity with computers. Ability to navigate at a basic level within web-based applications.

Responsibilities

Performs multiple step cleaning procedure, daily cleaning, discharge cleaning, discharge bed making, O.R. cleaning, between case cleaning, upholstery, wall, and glass care.
Performs dry mopping, wet mopping of common areas using appropriate equipment including a floor care machine.
Responds to stat orders such as discharges, spills, floods, and all hospital-wide emergency drills. Cleans up all organic body waste (i.e. blood, feces, sputum, and urine).
Collects solid and contaminated waste. Seals boxes used for contaminated waste in the area where the waste is generated.
Uses department procedures in preparation and selection of cleaning solutions. Reports low supply of inventory and keeps equipment area organized.
