Job summary

Michigan Medicine is seeking an Environmental Services worker to perform terminal cleaning in operating rooms and support cleaning duties across the department. Duties include operating equipment, waste handling, and floor refinishing in a hospital setting.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, ability to read/write English, and strong physical stamina. Union-covered position with night shifts and healthcare benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must be able to read, write, and understand English.
• Must be able to follow both verbal and written instructions.
• Must perform a wide range of physical activities (pushing, pulling, lifting, etc).
• Must not have lifting restrictions.
• Must work around sick and disabled patients in a hospital setting.
• Must be a team player, able to prioritize work and handle stress daily.

Responsibilities

• Perform terminal cleaning of operating room suites.
• Operate cleaning and scrubbing equipment; strip and refinish floors.
• Collect and transport waste/soiled linen; wash walls and ceilings; clean restrooms.
• Be able to perform all cleaning duties related to Environmental Services.
