Merit Health Flowood is seeking an Environmental Services Worker II to maintain a clean, safe hospital environment. You will perform floor care, waste removal, linen handling, spill cleanups, and general cleaning in accordance with infection control standards.

Responsibilities include sanitizing patient rooms and common areas, reporting maintenance needs, keeping logs, and collaborating with the facilities team.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of experience in environmental services, housekeeping, custodial work, or hospital facility maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Perform floor care including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, waxing, and shampooing.
• Collect, remove, and dispose of waste per policy and regulatory guidelines.
• Handle soiled linens and replace with clean bags.
• Sanitize patient rooms, restrooms, hallways, offices, and common areas.
• Respond to spills and perform proper disinfection and safety precautions.
• Move furniture, floor mats, and equipment for cleaning or maintenance.
• Monitor cleaning supply usage and store/use supplies safely.
• Communicate maintenance and repair needs to supervisor or facilities team.
• Maintain accurate cleaning logs and document completed tasks.
• Perform other duties as assigned and maintain regular attendance.
• Comply with all hospital policies and standards.
