Job summary

Flowers Hospital is seeking an Environmental Services Worker II to maintain a safe, clean and welcoming environment for patients, staff and visitors. Responsibilities include floor care, waste handling, linen management, spill cleanup, and adherence to infection control standards.

Qualifications include 1-3 years in environmental services or related fields and a certification in Environmental Services (CHEST/CHESP) is preferred.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of standard cleaning procedures, chemicals, and floor care techniques.
• Ability to safely handle biohazardous and infectious waste per infection control standards.
• Familiarity with cleaning equipment maintenance and usage.

Responsibilities

• Performs floor care tasks: sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, waxing, shampooing to maintain cleanliness and safety.
• Disposes of waste including biohazardous materials following policies and guidelines.
• Handles soiled linens, replaces with clean bags, ensures proper containment and storage.
• Cleans and sanitizes patient rooms, restrooms, hallways, offices and common areas per infection control standards.
• Responds to spills and performs contamination cleanups with proper disinfection and safety.
• Moves furniture and equipment for cleaning or department relocations.
• Monitors cleaning supply usage and ensures safe storage of supplies.
• Communicates maintenance and repair needs to supervisor for timely resolution.
• Maintains accurate cleaning logs and documents completed tasks.
• Performs other duties as assigned and maintains regular attendance.
• Complies with all hospital policies and standards.
