Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking an Environmental Services team member at West Allis Medical Center in Wisconsin to maintain cleanliness of patient care and support areas. The role requires rotating weekends/holidays and a 3pm–11:30pm schedule, with a 40-hour work week.

No formal education is required; experience is not required. Strong attention to detail and customer service are essential for maintaining infection control standards.

Qualifications

• Ability to follow and understand oral and written instructions.
• Ability to work alone and to understand the physical arrangements of the facilities.
• Performs tasks without disrupting operations of doctors, nurses, patients, public, and other staff.
• Basic computer skills.
• Excellent customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Clean patient care areas, surgical areas, restrooms, lobbies, offices, and common areas.
• Clean environmental surfaces including ceilings, walls, doors, furniture, beds, and windows.
• Handle hazardous waste per infection control guidelines.
• Sort, stock, and deliver linens; prepare soiled linen for transport.
• Assist in inventory of linens, cleaning supplies, and paper supplies.
