Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a full-time Environmental Services worker in Milwaukee, WI. The role involves cleaning patient care areas, rooms, restrooms and common spaces, handling waste and linen, and maintaining supply areas. The position requires ability to follow instructions and work with minimal supervision.

Schedule is 3:00 PM–11:30 PM with rotating weekends and holidays. 40 hours per week, pay range $18.85–$28.30 hourly.

Qualifications

• Ability to follow and understand oral and written instructions.
• Ability to work alone and to understand the physical arrangements of the facilities.
• Performs tasks without disrupting operations of staff and patients.
• Ability to set priorities and follow department policies.

Responsibilities

• Cleans patient care areas, surgical areas, restrooms, conference rooms, lobbies, offices, elevators and stairwells.
• Cleans environmental surfaces including ceilings, vents, walls, doors, furniture, beds, bathrooms and windows.
• Dusts and damp mops floors in patient areas and corridors.
• Replaces cubicle and window coverings.
• Gathers and disposes recyclables, trash and medical waste; handles hazardous waste per guidelines.
• Sorts, stocks and delivers linens; prepares soiled linen for transport.
• Cleans and prepares dismissal/transfer units and distributes supplies.
• Fills and cleans supply dispensers.
• Inventories linens and cleaning supplies; orders replenishments as needed.
• Reports mechanical failures or unsafe conditions to supervisor.
