Job summary

Mount Carmel Health System is seeking an Environmental Services Technician to create a sanitary, safe environment and enhance the facility's appearance on-site. You will clean patient rooms, stock supplies, move furniture for maintenance, and respond to spills while upholding service excellence standards.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, strong communication, basic math/writing skills, and familiarity with cleaning chemicals and equipment. Equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Graduate or GED preferred.
• Ability to clearly and respectfully communicate with patients, visitors, and colleagues.
• Reading, basic math and writing skills required.
• Knowledge of chemicals, their dilution, and proper use of related equipment.
• Familiarity with steam sterilizer, shredding/grinding systems, waste/recycling compactors and balers.

Responsibilities

• Exhibits Mount Carmel Service Excellence Behavior Standards and fosters a professional environment.
• Cleans patient rooms and assigned areas daily; handles trash and sanitizes surfaces.
• Stocks paper items and other supplies in patient rooms as needed.
• Moves furniture for repair or cleaning and sets up meeting rooms.
• Assists in cleaning emergency spills or floods as needed.
• Communicates with all staff in an accurate and timely manner.
• All other duties as assigned.
