Job summary

Mount Carmel Health System is seeking an Environmental Services Technician to maintain a sanitary, safe hospital environment. The role involves cleaning patient rooms, handling trash, stocking supplies, and assisting with room setup and spills, while upholding service Excellence standards.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED and strong communication, reading, and basic math skills. Training on chemical use and equipment operation is expected as part of this role.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Graduate or GED preferred.
• Ability to clearly and respectfully communicate with patients, visitors, and all colleagues.
• Reading, basic math and writing skills required.
• Knowledge of the correct use of chemicals, dilution of chemicals, supplies, tools and equipment; operate related devices.

Responsibilities

• Cleans patient rooms and other assigned areas daily, including collecting and removing trash, changing bed linens and sanitizing all surfaces.
• Stocks paper items and other supplies in patient rooms as necessary or designated.
• Move furniture for repair or cleaning and set up meeting rooms.
• Assist in cleaning of emergency spills/floods that are observed or requested.
• Exhibits Mount Carmel Service Excellence Behavior Standards and professional conduct.
