Job summary

Mount Carmel Health System is seeking an Environmental Services Technician to uphold a sanitary, safe environment across patient areas. You will follow service standards and ensure timely, courteous service, maintaining clean rooms and supporting housekeeping operations.

Responsibilities include daily sanitation, stocking supplies, and assisting with spills. The role requires clear communication, basic math, reading/writing skills, and knowledge of chemical handling.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate or GED preferred.
• Clear and respectful communication with patients, visitors, and colleagues.
• Reading, basic math and writing skills required.
• Knowledge of proper chemical use, dilution, and operation of cleaning equipment.

Responsibilities

• Exhibits Mount Carmel Service Excellence Behavior Standards and demonstrates professionalism.
• Cleans patient rooms and areas daily; handles trash, changes linens, and sanitizes surfaces.
• Stocks paper items and supplies in patient rooms as needed.
• Moves furniture for repair or cleaning and sets up meeting rooms.
• Assists in cleaning spills or floods as observed or requested.
• Communicates accurately and promptly with staff.
• All other duties as assigned.
