Job summary

Southern Ohio Medical Center is seeking a Housekeeper who will perform repetitive cleaning tasks to maintain assigned areas in an attractive, orderly, and sanitary condition. The role requires standing, walking, lifting up to 50 pounds, and adherence to safety procedures in a hospital environment.

Under the Environmental Services Manager, you will carry out cleaning duties, restock supplies, and handle waste in compliance with department policies.

Qualifications

• Basic reading and writing skills are required.
• Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand/walk for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Clean all assigned areas following department policies and procedures.
• Remove trash from assigned areas and dispose of waste properly.
• Vacuum, sweep, dust and sanitize floors; buff floors as needed.
• Carry out written or oral instructions with common-sense understanding.
• Obtain materials and supplies; restock daily.
• Demonstrate knowledge of environmental services chemicals and their proper use.
• Report items needing repair to Supervisor.
• Keep equipment, closets and carts neat and organized.
